Having a yearly getaway planned is always a fabulous idea for a number of reasons. The main one being it’ll give you something to look forward to, and then there’s the obvious bonus of getting away from reality for a few weeks before returning with a tan.
One thing we always hear about at the beginning of the year is Valentine’s Day, and there’s no doubt that all the ladies would have heard of Galentine’s Day. The day before Valentine’s Day, it’s a day about celebrating your friendship with your best girlfriends, but why should you have one day of the year to appreciate each other?
Rather than settling for lunch and a few drinks, why not plan an amazing getaway in the middle of the year filled with sun, sea, cocktails and company? And there’s no better place to head this year than wonderous Greece.
Get the Right Spot
Of course, Greece is a big place when you think about it, and with that comes an abundance of places for you to head on your holiday.
Firstly, you’ll need to think about where it is you want to go. If you’re looking for thousands of years of history then you’ll need to head to Crete, if you’re looking for history and vibrant towns, Rhodes is the location for you. Meanwhile Kefalonia is ideal for those looking to sit back and relax, while Corfu has wonderful restaurants and jaw-dropping scenery, and Zante is just what you need if you want some fun nightlife.
The Ideal Accommodation
This is one you should think about long and hard. Are you looking for a cheap and cheerful all-inclusive resort where all the effort is taken out of the holiday, or maybe you’d like to explore restaurants and bars and not be restricted to the hotel. If this is the type of getaway you want, then maybe opt for a private villa from the likes of Villa Plus, offering you and your friends some privacy during your down time, and giving the you the opportunity to stay or go out at your own free will – there’ll even be a pool.
Plan an Itinerary
This will all depend on where you go, but it always pays to have a plan of action for a girl’s holiday. After all, you don’t want to be stuck by the pool all day. Make sure you note the luscious beaches around you and pay them a visit, check out the bustling nightlife and restaurants of the various towns, and make sure you take a day to take a visit to the important historical sites. Of course, don’t make it too strict, you want to enjoy yourselves after all, and that will require a little wiggle room.
